Pickens County Board policy states: "Parents, legal guardians or authorized persons may check students out of school only by coming to the school office.
If a student is to be picked up and is not a normal car rider, he/she must also have a note, otherwise, we will place the student on their regular bus.
The office will call on the intercom for the student to be released from class.
A notarized letter must be on file in the principal's office listing those persons other than parents or legal guardians who are authorized to check out students.
Emergencies will be handled by the school principal." A parent checking out a student must check the child out through the office.
