While sitting on the ground in handcuffs surrounded by law enforcement officers , Godbolt told the Clarion-Ledger of his intentions and said he did it because he loved his wife and children, adding that he loves Bogue Chitto.
He said he did not intend for police to capture him alive and that he 'ran out of bullets.'Godbolt also told a reporter that 'death' is next, saying: 'My intentions was to have God kill me.
I ran out of bullets.'Suicide by cop was my intention.
Neighbors called the police, and Godbolt allegedly killed responding deputy William Durr, 36, around pm along with three women at the home in the 2800 block of Lee Drive in Bogue Chitto.
Godbolt's wife fled the scene with her step-father.
